Nightlife

Glitz and razzmatazz…that’s what its all about when the sun goes down. The Las Vegas Strip is an expanse of neon, mega resorts and their way-out attractions eagerly lighting the way.

When Darkness Falls

Besides the major gambling interest, Vegas evenings attract visitors to their nightclubs, strip clubs, bars, lounges and music venues, all being fuelled well into the small hours. Vegas now has more nightclubs, lounges and bars than ever before, with most of them being conveniently situated on the famous Las Vegas Strip. Whatever a visitors taste when nightimes falls, a great time is definitely on the cards!

Clubland

The Las Vegas nightclub scene is the best it's ever been! Every night in Las Vegas there are a wide variety of choices for visitors to dance the night away, with many trendy nightclubs starting off as restaurants or bars early in the evening but changing into something a bit clubbier later on in the night, while other places are nightclubs all night long. Whether looking to socialise, sit like a lounge lizard, drink, or dance the night away, Las Vegas nightclubs will have it all. The after-hour nightspots cater to the over-21 crowd, with some open all night long, if the body can withstand it! The clubs cater for every taste, including Techno, Hip-Hop, Lounge and Disco. Many of the clubs have dress codes.

The Bars and Lounges

They’re everywhere! Bars are very popular in Las Vegas, with some providing entertainment such as dance shows, live music, piano recitals etc. Serving beer, wine and cocktails around the clock with most never having shut their doors since opening day! In a city where the casinos never close, why should the bars? It would be awful if anyone sobered up and realised how much money they’d actually spent! The lounge scene in Las Vegas still remains a mystery that’s absolutely exclusive to the city. The great thing about Vegas lounges is the free entrance, but watch out for the minimum drink order. The lounges all provide live music and virtually every hotel has one.

Striptease

They’ll probably never die out, stripping is big business in the city that never sleeps. More and more new strip clubs are opening all the time, some costing in the range of $25 million dollars to build. Many people who enter these joints will be shocked at the way these clubs have changed, the money to build these places have been used to create a more upmarket, swankier sort of place, a big change from the old sleazy joints of twenty years or more ago. As the times change though, so has the dress code. An expensive strip club does not want a short and t-shirt kind a guy walking into the place, so to avoid being hassled, dress smart, shirt and collar, trousers and shoes…and remember, no physical contact is allowed.

Gay Bars and Clubs

There are quite a few gay clubs where visitors can not only have a drink 24 hours a day, but play slot machines or video poker games, "The City of Sin", the famous gambling capital of the world boasts a surplus of bars that are also prime spots for cruising. The gay scene is continuing to grow and be recognized. Even three of the casinos are now featuring gay-themed or drag shows.

Live Music

The great thing about the live music venues in Las Vegas is that besides the music being out of this world so are the venues. Sometimes people go to music venues near their hometown only to find the venue or sound system pretty disappointing but in Las Vegas, as with most of its attractions, the quality of music and site is top rate. Most live music in Las Vegas can be found in the lounge bars, mostly at hotels and provided free of charge. A good bet would be to find out who’s playing when before travelling, to get a ticket, as places will fill very quickly.
