Las Vegas Golf Club
Las Vegas Golf Club
It’s been around the longest and everyone’s favourite putting spot. The Las Vegas Golf Club is a very popular, municipal golfing venue and probably the most player-friendly layout in Vegas.
New Appearance
Undergoing $4 million worth of renovations, the club has upgraded its course with tree-lined fairways, a lighted driving range and a new clubhouse. The course is so open that even wild slices or hooks can be played. Undulations are here and there though to make sure golfers don’t have a totally easy ride!
The Golfing Holes
The first three holes set the pace. The 1st is a driveable, dogleg-left, 311-yard par 4. Three bunkers sit long and right of the green. The second hole, a 503-yard, slight dogleg left par 5, is the longest on the course. The fairway is open, but one left bunker guards the green. The third hole, a 98-yard par 3, is the course's shortest hole, demanding a first-rate wedge shot over water to a kidney-shaped green surrounded by four bunkers.
On the 379-yard, par-4 7th hole, the Stratosphere provides a perfect line-up view for the tee shot. The dogleg-left, 461-yard, par-5 13th hole plays to a broad fairway and then to a green filled with bunkers. The 460-yard, par-5 15th plays immediately to an undefended green.
Six par 4's play less than 380 yards, and three play over 400 yards. The longest is the 438-yard, dogleg-left 8th hole. A few pine trees stand along the fairway, which is otherwise open and inviting, as is the bunker-less green.
The 6th hole plays 189 yards, and two large bunkers front the green. No. 17 plays 211 yards, and it's one of the toughest holes on the course.
