Bear’s Best Golf Club

This is THE place to play golf. Specially designed by Jack Nicklaus, the 18 holes have been personally chosen by Jack, from courses he designed himself, throughout the west.
Flourishing fairways and greens stand in bleak contrast to the white sand bunkers, except on the 4th and 11th holes that include black sand from the Old Works Course in Montana. A signature hole on this sort of design is virtually impossible to pick, with every hole being an individual highlight within itself.

The Golfing Holes
The first hole, a 408-yard par 4 comes from PGA West, the private course, in Palm Springs. It's a dogleg left that plays along a lake on the left. Second shots, usually played with a mid-iron, play to an elevated green that has three bunkers in front. The 18th, a 450-yard par 4, is a dramatic finishing hole. Replicated from PGA West (Resort), this dogleg right has sand and water running along the entire right side of the fairway. A good drive still leaves a mid-to-long iron into a green that is well-bunkered and elevated. Two holes come from Old Works Golf Club in Anaconda, Montana, and are complete with black sand in the bunkers. The sand, called slag, is a byproduct of the copper smelting process in Montana. This provides a stark contrast to the white-sand bunkers on the rest of the course.

About Jack
Photos, plaques and other memorabilia are displayed in the extensive clubhouse, Jack's Place, which highlight Nicklaus' golfing career. With amazing views of the 75,000-square-foot driving range, Bear’s Best course and Red Rock Mountains, it’s definitely a place to put golfers into the whole Jack Nicklaus spirit.
