The X Scream At The Stratosphere

Ever wondered what it feels like, to sit on a seesaw, tilting over the edge of a very tall building? No? Well for those strange few who might have, a ride has come to light, where you can scare yourself to death over and over again!

What Is It?

The world's third highest thrill ride, shaped like a giant seesaw, perched precariously on the side of the outdoor observation deck, 866-feet above the ground.

Getting Buckled In

Riders climb up onto a platform aimed toward the sky and get into one of the seats. A hydraulic restraining device holds passengers around the waist but there are no harnesses or other safety equipment to ruin the affect. The bottom and the sides of the platform fall away leaving the riders basically sitting in an open chair!

The Ride

The car propels riders head-first up a ramp, 27 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere Tower, at 30 miles-per-hour, then dangles them weightlessly above the Strip. Speeding up, the teeter-totter action comes into play and the ramp tilts off the side of the building for 15 seconds, creating a very scary feeling of impending doom! Of course it stops before that happens, leaving riders dangling out in thin air, watching the traffic whirring around beneath them. The ramp then resets and catapults riders twice more to the edge before finally returning to the Tower. There’s also a “surprise” within the ride, an unexpected, one last lift and sudden drop.

Further Information

Located at 2000 Las Vegas Boulevard South, North West end of the Strip at the Stratosphere Tower with each ride costing only $8.00.
