Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park
Escape the casinos, the humidity and heat and get totally refreshed for the day at the Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park.
What Can You Do There?
Built in 1977, the 26-acre water park draws families in its masses every summer with something to do for all ages. Some visitors prefer to laze under a cascading waterfall of the Suntan Lagoon, or wind down the Lazy River on a raft, while the wilder visitor is looking for excitement on the parks’ original rides and water park classics.
The Rides
Some of the featured rides include Royal Flush(with essential toilet bowl sounds), a ride that washes you down a chute into a pool at 45 mph, reserved only for strong swimmers though, as you're dumped head-first into a 10-foot-deep pool. There’s also Blue Niagara, a six-story slide that has intertwined chutes and Der Stuka, the world"s fastest and highest water chute which pitches you toward the Earth at 70mph on a seven-story free-fall into a cool wading pool, a drop from Bomb Blast does the same after you're released from a metal compartment. There’s also a 500,000-gallon wave pool and Raging Rapids, a white-water adventure on a 500-foot long river. One of the favourite rides rated amongst the visitors is Banzai Banzai, a ride where you sit on a plastic sled, shoot down a 150-foot slide and then skim across a pool like a pebble.
For the Young Ones
For the children, there’s a smaller water playground, a video arcade and a sunbathing area, where parents can relax and soak up the summer sun while keeping the kids in view. Wet 'n Wild also has its own park within a park at Picnic Plaza. Play and relax on dry land with sand volleyball, horseshoe pits, tetherballs, the Trampoline Thing and shady, grassy areas with picnic tables. The park also has a unique safety feature where parents can get special electronic wristbands for their kids, and various kiosks throughout the park help keep track of them.
Where To Eat or Shop
There are numerous snack opportunities at the food stations and a nice picnic area under a tent at the Pepsi Pavilion. Swimmers can also go to one of the many Beach Trends Shops and pick up a reasonable priced costume/trunks.
