The Gallery of Fine Art – Bellagio
Considered one of the finest collections in the world, The Gallery of Fine Art at The Bellagio Hotel continues to grow and develop under the aid of Stephen Wynn, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Mirage Resorts.
Original Paintings
Visitors have the opportunity to view original works by many important masters in Western art history. Works that have been hidden many years from public view, in private collections, can now be enjoyed everyday throughout the year.
Artists Masterpieces
Most of the paintings is accredited to be among each individual artists’ greatest masterpieces, including Edgar Degas’s large pastel of a ballerina on stage, Peter Paul Rubens’s seventeenth century representation of Salome presented with the head of John the Baptist and Auguste Renoir’s jewel like study of a couple in a theatre.
Post-Impressionist Masterpieces
Amidst the Post-Impressionist masterpieces are Vincent van Gogh’s painted portrait of a peasant woman sitting in the wheat field in which Vincent took his own life, a painting by Paul Gauguin of the South Seas in brilliant pinks, golds and blues, and Georges Seurat’s Landscape, Island of La Grande Jatte, a dazzling masterpiece of colour and detail.
Twentieth Century Works
Highlights from the twentieth century include Pablo Picasso’s emotionally enhanced portrait of his wartime lover, Dora Maar, Joan Miró’s whimsical painting of primeval insects, and one of Willem de Kooning’s best known abstractions, Police Gazette.
