The Canyon Blaster At Circus Circus

With tight inversions and near misses at speeds of up to 55 mph, The Canyon Blaster is the world's only indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster.

When Was It Built?

Custom designed by Arrow Dynamics, Adventuredome's premier ride is one of the parks first four when it opened as Grand Slam Canyon in 1993.

Taking A Ride

After boarding one of two 28 passenger, seven-car trains, the exciting journey begins. Departing the station, the Canyon Blaster makes a sharp turn before beginning the gradual climb up the nine-story lift hill. As the train disengages off the lift, over 90 feet from the floor below, the excitement is about to start, with a sharp turn around the highest mountain in the Adventuredome. The shocker comes when the train suddenly takes a quick six-story drop and riders in the rear of the train find themselves afloat in their seats. The unexpected 66-foot drop will be a huge shock for most passengers! Now travelling at the top speed of 55 mph the rider begins two consecutive vertical loops, followed by a quick-banked turn sending screaming riders into two more inversions, which is the double corkscrew. To complete the journey, riders are thrown into a high-speed spiral spin around the outside of the mountain and then into the inside of the mountain through a dark tunnel before hitting the brake run.

Overall Experience

It may be a bit on the short side, but travellers come off feeling shaken, hoarse and wondering where they are!
